that is navigable by a vessel of 8 ft. draft.
Can
CS make a positioning trip any time of year? Yes. Yes. Built for offshore conditions, Copper Sky can travel in most weather, although would normally wait out gales in a safe harbor when possilbe. How
many cabins and bunks does it have? There are six 'passenger' cabins with 2 bunks (upper and lower) in each. There are four bunks aft for ship's crew when vessel is at sea. Total accommodation available for camp accommodation is twelve.
As a float camp, 'Copper Sky' is available on a bareboat charter basis. The charterer (contractor) leases the boat at a fixed rate, and pays for extras that are necessary for contractor's operation, including food, fuel, cook, propane and other consumables. CS will source a suitable engineer to operate all the systems required for use as a float camp. Charterer pays engineer at cost on a subcontract basis. Any insurance that is necessary for purposes of the charterer's use of vessel is payable by them. This can be done, but owner's skipper would have to fly in to do it. If the contractor needs the vessel to be mobile, for doing a geodetic survey for example, then a navigating crew would be necessary, and CS would have to be chartered as a passenger vessel. Passenger vessels are regulated by Transport Canada and would require a navigating crew. Insurance and other requirements would differ as well. Is
there a workshop aboard? There is a small workshop below deck that is used by the engineer. An optional 16 ft. x 16 ft. prefab workshop can be erected on deck for use by contractor. For workshop details, contact us. The engineer has access to a full set of tools, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and rigging. There are spare parts for most of the systems aboard. More questions? Email: FloatCamp
